What is Real Joy for you?

Have you ever thought what brings you Real Joy (R.J.)?

Well, according to the Circle of life wheel, Joy is considered one of the tracks to be evaluated.

In my opinion, Real Joy is any activity that brings you long term intrinsic happiness and high energy towards achieving your targeted goal with great feeling of content internally.

Did you notice the key words in the definition?

Long term, Intrinsic, feeling of content and internally !

These are key here to focus on..

To begin with, there are 3 top areas where Joy can be triggered :

A. Self-care

Here, it’s basically any activity that can bring self-care for you: warm shower, meditation, healthy food, physical activity, home cooking, clearing clutter, reading a book, watching your favorite series, drinking coffee... You name it.

B. Relationships

Here, it basically starts with your support system ( family, spouse, kids..etc), then it expands to your friends and mentors. Investing in the relationships around you brings you Real Joy and provides you with high self value in the community. Your value to others will be precious and irreplaceable.

You will gain trust and unleash hidden skills that you may not know about.

C. Finances

Here, its basically the no.1 fearful aspect that most of the people try to avoid solving and run away from admitting that there is an issue. I know most of you may expect it's about budgeting or money management...

Actually, its different than what you think..

Joy Spending is a new method where you evaluate what spendings bring you joy and you focus on them..

I am not saying buying an LV bag with $3,000 then go bankrupt...

For instance, try to go through your monthly spending list and analyze what spendings brought you Real Joy. As a result, you may discover that; for example, you are paying for a trainer in the gym where you don't enjoy the classes at all, you always count the hours to end. Hence, you will actually give it another thought to either go to a new trainer or choose a different physical activity that you actually enjoy more! ..

As a small exercise here, try to write on a sheet of paper:

What self-care activities bring you Real Joy? And, stick to those activities for a week, then enjoy the Real Joy.

What relationships bring you Real Joy and focus on them?

What are your regular spendings? What are your Joy Based Activities? And embrace them.

Have a nice evening,
